Salt rapidly accelerates corrosion — attacking chassis and suspension components from the inside out. Elixir Salt Remover neutralizes road salt, helping minimize corrosion and extending the working life of your vehicle.
Standard washing doesn't cut it. While salt can be dissolved in water, bonded crystallized salt particles resist pressure washing and hand washing alike — even prolonged immersion in water removes only a fraction of what's bonded to the surface. Road salt reacts with fuels, oil, and inorganic road film to form a tenacious coating that requires a purpose-built formula to break down.
Elixir is that formula. A foaming, low-pH pre-wash that targets granular road salt, grit, and inorganic road film — with a foaming action that extends dwell time, letting the chemistry work before agitation even begins.

Bonded Salt Requires a Focused Formula
Road salt reacts with organic and inorganic road film to bond tightly to surfaces. Generic cleaners and pressure washing only remove loose deposits — Elixir specifically targets the crystallized, bonded particles that remain.
Foaming Action Extends Dwell Time
The foaming nature of Elixir keeps the formula in contact with the surface longer, breaking down salt and road film over time — or giving you the ability to agitate embedded contamination where needed.
Step One of a Two-Stage Pre-Wash
Elixir handles the heavy lifting — road salt, inorganic film, and underbody grime. Follow with Ultimus Snow Foam or Ultimus+ to neutralize residual chemistry and remove general dirt, leaving a near-neutral runoff before contact wash.
Pairs Directly with HELIX
On first use, Elixir removes long-term salt build-up to prepare a clean surface. After rinsing, apply HELIX Anti-Corrosion Spray to seal and protect what Elixir has just cleaned.
Critical for Classic and Older Vehicles
Rubberized underseal on older cars becomes brittle and cracks over time — exposing bare metal to salt and moisture. Pre-1990s vehicles weren't E-coated from the factory, making salt removal an essential part of any maintenance routine.
Dilution Guide
Elixir can be applied via spray bottle, snow foam lance, hose adapter, or added to a contact wash bucket. On first use, use a stronger dilution to remove long-term salt build-up. Maintain with lighter dilutions once protected with HELIX.
