The only aftermarket accessories tested and approved by FLEX engineers. Designed by APS Germany in conjunction with FLEX. Made in Germany.
If you own a FLEX PXE 80 and you have not run this kit, you do not know what the machine is fully capable of. The factory kit is excellent. The APS EDC Upgrade Kit resolves two specific limitations the standard configuration leaves open — and once you've run both, the stock setup feels like the compromise it is.
This is not an aftermarket accessory from a third party that happened to fit. These parts were designed by APS Germany in direct conjunction with FLEX engineers — tested and approved by the same people who built the machine. Every engineering decision in this kit reflects the mechanical limits of the PXE 80 and what those limits allow. That provenance matters.
I have run this kit extensively. The advisements in this description come from countless hours of personal use and from the body of customer feedback since these were released. If I tell you something works a certain way, it's because I've done it — and seen what happens when it isn't done that way.

Two problems. Two solutions.
If you do the small work seriously — this kit is non-negotiable
Door cups. Glass edges. Gasket lines. Tight panel transitions. Wheel recesses. Trim surrounds. The areas that hand polishing reaches last and factory machine setups don't reach at all. That is where this kit lives.
Anyone running a PXE 80 for paint correction or detail finishing on cars that matter knows the frustration of working around areas the standard head can't get to cleanly. The extensions change that calculation entirely — and the reduced vibration from the APS backing plates means the work you're doing is actually translating to the surface rather than dissipating through an inadequate component.
This is a must-have kit for anyone that takes the small work seriously. Run it alongside this machine and you'll understand why the factory kit felt incomplete.
What's in the Kit

Key Operational Notes
Extensions are for rotary mode only. Using an extension with a DA drive above speed 2 produces visible wobble that is ineffective on paint and accelerates wear on the 12mm DA drive unit — and potentially the machine itself. I have seen this done and I am telling you directly: do not do it.
The FP75 3" backing plate is intentionally designed not to attach to an extension. This is not an oversight. It is an engineering decision based on the mechanical limits of the PXE 80. Any modification that works around this design is user liability, full stop.
These are not restrictions I invented. They come from the same FLEX engineers who tested and approved these parts. They come from use. These advisements reflect countless hours of my own use and the body of customer feedback since this kit was released.
2025 revision. This is the latest version of the kit, updated for 2025. All components are also available individually — if the kit is out of stock, each part is linked in the kit contents above. Find pads and cones in the polishing pads collection →
