APS EDC Upgrade Kit for the FLEX PXE 80 | Made in Germany
The only aftermarket accessories tested and approved by FLEX engineers. Designed by APS Germany in conjunction with FLEX — Made in Germany 🇩🇪.
The factory PXE 80 kit is excellent. The APS EDC Upgrade Kit makes it complete.
This kit exists because the standard backing plates and adapters leave two specific problems unsolved: you can't get deep enough in rotary mode for true edge and recess work, and the factory DA components — while functional — are outclassed by what APS has engineered. Once you've run both, you won't go back.
I see these pieces bring improved function to two sides of the work.
You'll also see less measurably less vibration during operation with the 2" and 3" backing plates, giving you better stability and pad to surface contact.
Included:
FXA50 Extension / Cone Adapter
Reach What Factory Parts Can’t: The FX50 extension and metal-core backing plates allow you to polish deep recesses, intricate wheel designs, and tricky panel gaps effortlessly
Better Durability & Comfort: Unlike factory plastic backing plates, APS’s metal-core plates with poly shield edges reduce vibration, improve edge protection, and are more durable
Perfect for Precision Work: Tackle areas around glass, gaskets, door cups, and tight panel gaps with confidence. The FXA50 extension even lets you use spindle-type polishing cones for a machine-polished finish where hand polishing falls short
Eliminate Machine Rattle: The included replacement dampers restore smooth operation by fixing the rattle that develops over time
One Important Note on Extensions:
Extensions are for rotary mode only. Using an extension with a DA drive above speed 2 produces visible wobble that is ineffective on paint and accelerates wear on the DA drive unit... and any other attached component — potentially the machine itself. I've seen it done and I'm telling you directly: don't.
The FP75 3" backing plate is also intentionally designed not to attach to an extension. That's not an oversight — it's an engineering decision based on the mechanical limits of the PXE 80. Modifications that work around these design elements are user liability, full stop.
These aren't restrictions I invented. They come from the same FLEX engineers who tested and approved these parts.
