A capacitor temporarily stores energy. With a Kranzle pump, the capacitor will supplement a lack of power or suppress power spikes from the power source itself, effectively allowing for a constant delivery of power to the pump.

There is a noted failure rate of the capacitor when being used with an unreliable power outlet or using a generator to power the machine itself. If you see a failure of this capacitor within 2 years of ownership of your pressure washer, it is a tell tale sign that clean and consistent power is NOT being delivered to your machine from your source of power - thus working the capacitor to the point of failure. 

Indicators of a failed 80uF are a non-uniform grey color visible behind the white casing, or the casing having a burst and 'grey goo' leaking.

Replacement 80uF capacitor has colored wires unlike what comes in the unit from factory. Installers note: it does not matter the orientation of wire color as long as wires are connected in the same positioning as factory. This is an inline circuit and NOT a positive / negative situation.
