Oberk Lotus Coat SiO2 Spray Sealant

Oberk Lotus Coat SiO2 Spray Sealant, cleverly named after the unique ability for the leaves of the lotus flower to repel water and effectively self-clean. The lotus effect refers to water contacting a surface, and the water beading looking like spheres with a contact angle over 150º or 'superhydrophobic'. 

Lotus Coat is not the same wet-application sealant you're used to, the ready to use formula means this SiO2 based last-step may be:

• sprayed and wiped similar to a quick detailer (QD Method)
• misted onto a wet panel and then fully rinsed off (Wet Application)

Durability ranges from 4-12 months all dependent on the life your paint lives. Products like this are what I consider 'a cheater' option because of the time savings and relative low cost per use. You get shorter term looks and durability without the time spent with massive prep work.

Is it perfect? Total transparency, I don't think a product like this is supposed to be. You need to be careful with direct sun applications (like any other wet-applied sealant) and do a quick inspection while drying to remediate possible streaking, but speed and ease of use is where Lotus Coat will work for you

Use & Application Notes: 

• work sections at a time
• avoid long dwell time on surface, spray on and rinse off
• work in a shaded area on cool panels
• final inspection of painted areas and glass
