The last thing you reach for. Because nothing else touched it.
Koch Chemie Wheel Cleaner CL is a powerful, phosphoric and hydrochloric acid-based cleaner suitable for all acid-resistant materials. Let's get this out of the way from the start — THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY PRODUCT. The information provided here is advice, and no liability is expressed or implied with this description.
With a pH of −0.2, you'll opt for CL when cleaning painted aluminum wheels and machinery that is heavily soiled. You must have a working knowledge of applying acids, responsibly manage runoff in a manner that is compliant with your local regulations, and use the appropriate PPE when using. NO EXCEPTIONS.
What it does
Phosphoric and hydrochloric acid formula — the chemistry that handles what alkaline cleaners cannot. Heavy oxidation, mineral scale, and severely soiled painted aluminum wheels.
pH −0.2 — this is not a light acid. It sits below zero on the pH scale. That rating defines the substrate list — acid-resistant materials only, researched and confirmed before application.
Concentrated — dilute to task — 1:2 to 1:10 depending on condition. The surface must be pre-wetted before application to control hot spots and prevent uncontrolled runs.
Painted aluminum wheels and heavy machinery — the designated use case. If you're reaching for CL on a set of wheels, you've already exhausted the alkaline options.
Dilution Guide
Application: Suggested dilutions for cleaning the appropriate and compliant wheel surface run from 1:2 to 1:10, and should be applied after the surface has been wetted down with water to avoid hot spots and runs. Do not let dry. Do not let run or apply to any area sensitive to acid. Never apply to a hot surface. Always research substrate composition and compliance of this product as well as your dilution BEFORE application.
How to Use
Research the substrate first — confirm the wheel or surface is acid-resistant before CL touches it. This step is not optional. Unprotected metals, aluminum in certain states, and zinc are off the list.
Pre-wet the surface with water — apply water to the wheel before CL goes on. This controls hot spots and prevents unmanaged runs across adjacent surfaces.
Dilute and apply — start at 1:10 and tighten only if needed. Apply to the wetted surface. Work it and keep it moving — do not let it sit.
Rinse completely — including runoff — full rinse of the wheel and everything the product touched or ran onto. Manage runoff per your local regulations.
Do not let dry. Do not let run onto any surface sensitive to acid. Never apply to a hot surface. Use appropriate PPE — always. Manage runoff in a manner compliant with your local regulations. Always research substrate composition and compliance of this product as well as your dilution BEFORE application. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ONLY TO BE APPLIED BY A PROFESSIONAL.
